This season of photographing life is a very interesting one.

I find myself shooting the earliest stages of marriage and the very start of life with new parents and young families, which I always have, but it feels so so different now. I feel like I have never understood quite so finely how a single experience, small or life changing, can leave marks on your life. In the very best and most challenging ways, this year has been extraordinarily memorable.

And then there was my last portrait session of the year…

This hard and trying and wonderful and shaking year is one I’m not too disappointed to see end, but in 90 minutes, the Crowley family restored every piece of my heart I didn’t know had broken. Witnessing their love that gave me breath. I’ve never felt such immediate and intense inspiration or peace behind the camera, and I hope you’ll see that in these images. The simple way they are together is stunning and I’m so so honored to be sharing August’s newborn session with you!
