What is there to even say about a couple who drives from New York to the North Shore, then gets in a car with a photographer they’ve never met for a four hour round trip drive to photograph inside a block of ice? Um, you say “hell yes!”

Just about three weeks ago, I saw a friend of mine had liked the Ice Castles NH page on Facebook which of course meant that activity was dropped on my newsfeed. Out of curiosity, I clicked on the page to see what it was all about and the second I looked, I knew I had to shoot there. Giant icicles, beautiful texture, an even color palette… I was hooked. So I started a giveaway contest and only shared with clients entering to win that I needed them all day long. I didn’t even share the location until they submitted their photo because I really wanted it to be a secret and I am SO GLAD I kept it to myself because it’s stunning and I’m just in love.

I chose Allison & George and another couple because the decision was so difficult and it was one of my favorite engagement sessions I’ve ever shot. We drove together up to Lincoln, NH which very possibly could have been a long two hour ride each way but turned out to be incredible! From med school to interesting travel stories to business ventures, we kept the conversation going the entire way to and from the ice castle! I don’t think there was a quiet moment and it made the experience so much more amazing to make new friends in addition to creating stunning images of the two of them.
