It took a ride to the airport, two three hour flights, a 45 minute taxi ride, two ferries, and another terrifying cliffside ride in a safari-style cab to reach this little slice of paradise. We stole glimpses of the white coral sand and the crystal clear waters every chance we got, but nothing was as breathtaking as Kristie & Zak’s intimate caribbean wedding!
I remember their coordinator saying “our weddings aren’t like American weddings. Island life is different.” She didn’t just mean the bare feet or dozens of onlookers. I knew just what she meant when Kristie & Zak’s guests were invited to stand up and surround them as they exchanged their vows on the beach. It was a simple ceremony, filled to the brim with love!
I’m certain that I’ll never forget how moving Kaylie’s maid-of-honor-speech, or how all of the guests sang along to the specialty dance songs, or how quiet the beach seemed at sunset for a second round of bridal portraits. For three days, being a part of Kristie & Zak’s wedding celebration was heaven on earth!
Zak and Kristie, thank you for inviting me to photograph your wedding ceremony and giving me so much portrait time! :) It was the most delightful wedding celebration and it was honor to witness it!
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Fleming!
